We are proud to be part of the Brands for Public Lands Coalition!
We’re All In for Public Lands
At TripOutside, we believe that human-powered adventures - whether you’re bagging a peak, paddling a desert river, or chasing fresh powder - are only possible because of one thing: public lands. These wild places are the soul of what we do and why we do it.
So when access gets threatened, protections get rolled back, and decisions happen behind closed doors, we speak up. That’s why we’re proud to stand alongside hundreds of other outdoor-minded businesses in the Brands for Public Lands coalition.
Why Public Lands Matter to Us
If public lands disappeared tomorrow, it wouldn’t just change our business - it would gut the experiences we exist to share. No more backcountry bliss, no more winding singletrack, no more alpine lakes at sunrise. These lands aren’t just playgrounds. They’re economic engines, cultural landmarks, and places of peace and belonging.
At TripOutside, we don’t just recreate on public lands - we help others explore them. Our mission is built around connecting people with nature through human-powered adventures. Our partners - local outfitters and expert guides - create meaningful outdoor experiences that inspire awe, spark curiosity, and deepen respect for the natural world. Whether it’s paddling through desert canyons, hiking remote alpine trails, or skiing untouched backcountry, these adventures depend on continued access to wild, protected places.
Public lands fuel a $1.2 trillion outdoor recreation economy, support 5 million American jobs, and provide the landscapes where we connect to nature, challenge ourselves, and recharge our spirits. If we lose access, we lose all of that - and more.
What We’re Doing
We’ve joined the Brands for Public Lands coalition to add our voice to the growing movement defending our wild places. Together, we’re taking a stand against:
- Selling off public lands to pay for budget cuts
- Prioritizing extractive industries over conservation and recreation
- Gutting landmark protections like the Antiquities Act, NEPA, and the Endangered Species Act
We’re also advocating for stronger protections for National Monuments and pushing for public transparency in how land management decisions are made.
Who’s in This with Us?
This isn’t just an outdoor industry issue. The coalition includes brands from across industries - outdoor gear, EVs, food and beverage, hunting and fishing, and more. It’s a diverse, united front of companies that know public lands are essential to our businesses, our customers, and our communities.
What’s at Stake
Recent moves from the Department of the Interior and some members of Congress are threatening long-standing public land protections. There are proposals to:
- Prioritize drilling and mining over recreation and conservation
- Transfer or sell off federal lands for development
- Undermine bedrock environmental protections
- Slash land management agency staff and resources
These decisions are happening with little public input and could have permanent consequences for the landscapes we love and rely on.
How to Help

For Individuals
Call your elected representatives and urge them to:
- Protect public lands and waters
- Reject proposals to sell or trade public land for short-term gain
- Preserve the laws and systems that keep our wild places intact
Make it clear that selling off public lands to balance the national budget is not acceptable. These places are not just scenic backdrops—they’re vital to our economy, our environment, and our identity.
We’re stronger when we stand together. The fight to protect our public lands isn’t just for the outdoor industry - it’s for anyone who’s ever found peace on a trail, joy in a river current, or meaning under a wide-open sky. These places belong to all of us, and it’s going to take all of us to keep them wild, accessible, and protected.
We can do this - together.
